Doesn't look like he was criminally cheated. Rather a deal was settled between parties, where this moneyed guy agreed to pledge a large part of his wealth. This same guy now runs away, owing the other party huge sums of money and calls out the other party as unethical. Talk of a distorted sense of reality.
